Hi from Minnesota

Postby soccerfan » Fri Jan 15, 2010 11:06 pm

Started playing banjo bout a year ago, some rolls and a song or two,
Im still learning , but am playing to demo jam sessions downloaded from the internet.
Wish there were intro jam sessions to attend to see how one gets started playing with
others.

Where do you get a list of songs to learn?
I just picked up Old time festival tunes for clawhammer and they comprise a pretty
big list.

Welcome soccerfan!

Oldtime or bluegrass? For bluegrass get the entire "Bluegrass Album Band" collection. Oldtime is still best learned by ear at jams.
Mark plays bass in Monroe Crossing. Visit http://www.monroecrossing.com
He speaks for himself and is generally ignored by the band.

Experience is something you gain immediately after you needed it.

I second Mark's recommendation to acquire the "Bluegrass Album Band" series.
